Gateway to Krk: THE Bridge

The Krk Bridge (or Krčki most) has connected the mainland with the island of Krk for more than 40 years. It consists of two partial bridges, with the small island of Sveti Marko in the middle. In 1980 the bridge was opened under the name Tito Bridge. At that time it was the longest-span concrete arch bridge in the world.

Since 2020, there is no longer any charge to use the bridge. The bridge was designed for wind speeds of up to 142 km/h. Nevertheless, it has to be closed on some days. The journey across the bridge takes 1-2 minutes. During the journey it is worth taking a look at the Velebit Canal below.
